About MeI grew up in an ordinary suburban town with plenty of parks and cornfields. Like any other small town, news traveled fast and nothing exciting ever happened. It was the perfect picture of domestic bliss. But, after graduating high school I made the biggest transition of my life: I left home to go to college in the big city.
I've learned so much about my own independence, about people, and about the "real world" from Chicago, and I'm experiencing new things every day. I remember the first time I purchased a transit ticket (yes, even that was intimidating). Of course, I ended up at the wrong stop and had to awkwardly ask someone for directions – Now I'm the one giving directions. As a college student, I'm blessed with the time and freedom to explore the city of Chicago, and even in the past two years that I've lived here, I still haven't seen enough. The city streets are full of people from all walks of life. Every one of these neighborhoods hold so much history and tradition. Everything from the architecture to the deep dish pizza is unique to this great city. Chicago people are as hard-working as they are proud. This blog is a way for me to share my experiences as a Chicagoan and a college student, inspired by the sights and sounds of the city. Chicago is a huge place, and I intend to explore as much of it as I can. As always, thanks for reading!
